Looking for Texas Hill country winter hangout

Hi everyone,
My wife and I are looking for a nice park in the Hill Country, with some good activity, suitable for spending the winter months. We are retired full timers. Any recomendations? Thanks for sharing your ideas. Dave

In addition to Guadalupe River in Kerrville, I'll throw out a few more you can investigate:

- Buckhorn Lake RV Resort - Kerrville

- Fredericksburg RV Park - Fredericksburg

- Alamo Fiesta RV Resort - Boerne

There are more "urban" parks in San Antonio proper and more "rustic" parks in/near smaller towns such as Bandera, Stonewall and Johnson City, an example being Miller Creek RV Park. It all depends what you're looking for.

Braunig Lake RV Resort just 6 or so miles south of downtown San Antonio. Full Passport America discount park. I would only stay in the "K" and "L" rows, which is considered premium if I were to stay there for any long length of time.

When you live in Texas, nothing is far away.

San Antonio is a fun city. Day trip to most of the places mentioned in the thread, plus Corpus Christie for a day.

I second the recommendation for Buckhorn Lake. Wonderful park.

281 RV Park

We stay at the 281 RV park in Bulverde, TX, which is about 12 miles north of San Antonio (on highway 281). About one/half of the spaces are occupied by folks who live there year round. They have a club house with regular activities and a nice chapel with Sunday services. They do have wi fi and good laundry facilities. This CG is a good gateway to the hill country and the San Antonio attractions. The staff is friendly and many of the spaces are shaded. It has become our "home away from home."
