Hello all, we are looking for a nice campground around the Gatlinburg area and found Twin Creek RV Resort, the website looks nice but has anyone been there or have any other suggestions in the Gatlinburg area.

Thanks,
Chris

Never stayed at Twin Creek, we stay at River Plantation RV Park when in that area, it's about 10 miles north of Gatlinburg in Seivierville. Our 2006 National Rally was held there and we had a great time. Nice campground and close to the Smokey's, Dollywood, and all the various entertainment in that area.

If you want a quiet scenic park off the beaten path, try Timberlake Campground in Whittier, about 45 miles south of Gatlinburg on the other side of the Great Smokey Mountains National Park.

Consider Elkmont Campground in the National Park. It is only about 6-8miles from town. We spent a week there a few weeks ago and we absolutely loved it. Sites are large and private.

Twin Creek sites are nice but very tight and close together and just off busy highway.

Thanks for the info. I looked at the River Plantation RV Park on the the internet and it looked very nice and also received good reviews on the RvParkReviews web sited. I also like the 20X70 sites that they have.

I will look at the Elkmont campground also.

Thanks,
Chris

We stayed there a couple of years ago. Sites very close together. Had to get tv across street from my site moved so we could leave when it was time. We will never go there again!

Concerning Twin Creek RV Campground in Gatlinburg, I have stayed there about 6 times and I personally think it is the best place to camp in Gatlinburg or Pigeon Forge. I recently stayed at River Plantation and drove over to Gatlinburg and toured Twin Creek just to see how it looked and wife & I were just sick that we didn't stay there. It just takes longer to get to Twin Creek since you have to drive through Pigeon Forge but it is worth it once you get there. It has a really nice grocery store across the street and trolley runs right by it. It has a much greater mountain atmosphere than Pigeon Forge that you can see at a distance.
