Looking to full time in San Diego

Hello my wife and i are moving to San Diego, thinking of living in our Ace 29.2 2013. Any suggestions on a RV park in that area? We will be working in the area.

Thank you
Kevin from Alaska.

- Santee Lakes

Chula Vista RV Park & Resort in San Diego, CA | RV Camping

We have stayed long term at each of these and can recommend them. Different environment for each. Chula Vista is South of San Diego. Santee Lakes East but easy to get around with freeways to where you want to go. Santee Lakes has a camping atmosphere, allows campfires etc but very nice accommodations. Chula Vista is surrounded by a big city park and adjacent to a marina. There are restaurants close. Nice accommodations not as open as Santee lakes but it is asphalt parking not gravel. The grounds at Chula Vista are manicured. Both are pet friendly.

I guess I should say that these may have time limits on stays.

San diego county covers a large area, from chula vista to oceanside North to south and beaches to el cajon. Most parks make you move out after a few months. Prices are expensive.

We lived in the San Diego KOA for a couple of years in the late 1990's. If memory serves me correctly we had to move out every six months for a week or so.

I would strongly recommend picking an RV park with minimum rush hour travel distance - and if possible against the flow of morning and evening traffic. If everybody is coming into the city in the morning you want to be going out of the city. (Them perhaps 15 mph, you 60 mph.) And when looking at the cost of an RV park also consider your driving cost back and forth to work. A more expensive RV park in close may actually be less expensive overall.

Where I'm writing this from. Bernardo Shores RV Park - Homepage. Don't think Imperial Beach, think Coronado.
