Planning a trip up that way and thought we might stay a few days if there is a good campground and a few things to do in the area

If you like state parks, you might want to consider Cloudland State Park just a few miles south of Chattanooga. http://tylwythteg.com/cloudland/cloud.html

Fiver;
I did some research for campgrounds in the Chattanooga area and the feedback I got was that Holiday Trav-L-Park is the best all around(commercial) campground in the area .That's where we're staying when we go up the second week in April.
