We stayed at Desoto State Park (Alabama) 2 years ago. Good facilities, beautiful fall foliage. The top of Lookout mountain is a long plateau and the parkway runs from the Alabama end almost up to Chattanooga. The road from Fort Payne, AL onto the mountain was not a problem for the MH. We did most of the driving on the parkway in the toad. The Park Ranger gave directions to an old covered bridge that was off the beaten path, near Mentone. The Little River Canyon is impressive, good photo ops at waterfalls and overlooks but some sections are not recommended for large vehicles or RV's. I have NOT been on the Northern section of the parkway in Georgia. Alabama State Parks
Hope this helps...

i have spoke to the al. tourist bureau and was told it is 93 miles of beautiful countryside, waterfalls, old gold mine, little towns, antique shops, flea markets, beautiful fall foliage. in august of each year it is the start from the south for the world's largest and longest yard sale. you can put in lookout mountain parkway in al. and get info and neat places to visit.
