Has anyone ever camped for a race weekend? How was it and any tips or advise to share?

Sure have! Season ticket holder for 9 years for the July race. As for track camping....water and sewer pump trucks and ice deliveries are available daily. Generator service only, bring ear plugs for the many construction grade genset operating everywhere. You are packed in pretty tightly i.e. awning to slideout with inches to spare. Bring leveling lumber, some area's required alot of it to get level, other areas not too bad. I always tried for lot S-4 which is right behind turn 2 and limits the amount of hiking to and from the track.
Any other questions? Ask away.

Oh great. Thanks for the reply. I have a 35 ft Class A and would like to find a spot that's easy to drive and and out? Any suggestions? Also, any spots where you can watch from your RV or do you have to sit in the stands? What is the best day to arrive and to leave? I know traffic is always an issue.

The back stretch hill is a reserved area, it takes years to get a preferred parking spot there and is probably the only area to see the race from a motorhome window.
What most everyone does is bring a child's lil red wagon or something wheeled and load up your coolers for the walk to the track/race. Wheeled deal gets padlocked to the fence at the main gate and coolers are carried in from there. Pre purchase tickets to avoid waiting in lines. Sat. modified race is the best race in my opinion and one I wouldn't miss.

Many will park their trailers/motorhomes on the Sunday before the race, leave and come up on Friday when they get out of work. This assures them closer parking to the track. I've always arrived on Wed. and left on Mon. The place was still pretty empty on Wed. but you could see it was filling up regularly. People arrive at the track from all over New England, /Canada at all hours of the day and night. They have parking guides to show you where to park no matter what time it is.
