You mentioned coming "back" thru New Orleans. Would you be coming in from the East? If so, from Slidell into N.O. be careful, lots of dips and rough spots. Once you get to the Paris Rd./ I-510 exit it gets a lot better.
FQRV is very nice and very pricey. Just go on by on I-10 to the US90B/ Westbank exit and head to Westwego and Bayou Segnette SP, about 10mi. It can handle any MH (45' Prevosts) or Trailers and $52 cheaper or $61 cheaper with Golden Passport.

Wow...hearing all the warnings about N O is concerning...we are hading there the end of the week...I planning to stop in Lafayette and then go into Ponchatrain Landing for a day or two...but maybe I need to rethink, and stay in Lafayette and travel in for a quick look see....

Bruce, I would advise staying in Lafayette and driving into N.O. to visit. Check out this RV Resort in Henderson, LA. www.cajunpalms.com Enjoy your trip.

Alright, I am convinced to not stay in N.O...we were going to stay at Ponchetrain Landing....so, Lafayette is too far...so what would be a good choice closer to N.O. so we can commute in and out easily...how about Slidell????

We have changed our mind, and are going to stay in NO..at Ponchetrain landing as originally planned. They have a shuttle to the French Qtr, and I spoke to the owner on the phone today, who ASSURED me that it isn't a problem. He did readily agree there are areas of the city you wouldn't go to, especially at night, but in the high tourist areas they are relatively safe. We are only going to be there two nights, so I will post how it was....we'll be careful and not take much cash, and my wife will not wear any jewelry...life's an adventure, right????

Arrived at Ponchetrain Landing....they are working on the road leading to the park, but once we got past that, the park is nice...right on the water, and the pull through sites were large...it is gravel sites, but nice. Staff were very friendly...now we have to go to town....let the adventure begin!!!!

Went into New Orleans this afternoon....lot's of tourists on the streets....with all the reports I have read about crime in N.O. , I didn't find it any worse than any other major city...yes, I saw some rough looking people hanging out....but I didn't feel unsafe at all...
