please some thoughts as to best route from Belfast,ME to Dayton, OH. Looks like my choices are either I90 or I70, Which might be better and where are two good spots to overnight breaking up the trip ito three days of driving. Thanks.

Barry and Linda,

We just returned from a trip to the Columbus area. Instead of I90 or I70, I'd recommend taking I80 across PA. Roads are in great shape, you avoid the more congested areas, very little construction (at the time) and no tolls (other than MA pike and Bridge in NY). IMHO best route would be Interstates 95/495/290/90/84/81/80/76/71/70.

Not sure how many miles you do per day but if you break your trip into thirds it looks like your 1st night is in the Danbury to Scranton area. Only thing I can offer is if you stay at the Newburgh KOA, it says big rigs ok, but I had a "pullthru" where I had to disconnect and back out because of the trees blocking the exit end. Second day would put you near Knox, PA. I'd recommend Wolf's Camping Resort. Third day you're in Dayton.

Hope this helps. Have a safe trip.
