Maine trip second week of October
Never been to Maine so planning a trip to see the fall foul age. Not sure if I'm taking the RV but looking for recommendations of where to stay and what special events might be happening that week. Would like to see some of the beaches and enjoy the seafood. Also like lakes and Mountains...

I am also going about the 3rd week in Sept. Interested in what you hear and where to stay around Bar Harbor to see Arcadia NP. I should be able to tell you what I learn[emoji3]

We were in Bar Harbor last October and most of the campgrounds closed on or around Columbus day.

We will be gone before Columbus Day, the original poster may not be.
Where did you stay? How did you like it? Did you hear of other recommendations.?

We stayed at My Desert Narrows cg. It was ok. We don't really care about campground amenities. All we ask is clean, quite and convenient, it met those requirements. There is a free shuttle bus that picks up at most campgrounds and takes you into Bar Harbor, it runs on a published schedule. It is a great place to visit. We have considered spending a summer there. And the lobster is great. You pick the one you want, pay by the pound and the cook it, eat it there or take it back to your RV.

Red Apple Campground (Arundel) Kenebunkport,Maine. Very well kept and clean.
Were there first week of Oct a couple of years. Kind of pricey.
Had lobster delivered to our motorhome. Nice service that they offered.
A lot of the campgrounds are closing up for the winter around those parts mid October.
We'll be going back one of these days!
Happy and safe travels!

Sites like this will give you a general idea now and frequent coverage when it starts happening:
https://www1.maine.gov/dacf/mfs/proj...ere/index.html
That one also has interesting drives, etc.
Most of the NE closes down after Columbus day weekend. That is end of season party time in a lot of places as the kids are off so the families head out for a last weekend before winterizing and the parks start shutting down their water systems before they get caught in a freeze. A few places will have sites with hookups after that. A few others will have a dump station and water spigot and leave electric on for various time periods. Those are the locals running things. A lot of folks running the summer places are heading south to jobs in Florida and Texas for the winter season. That includes a lot of tourist traps, restaurants, and other attractions.

We visited Acadia NP in late Sept '13. Recommend Bar Harbor and Blackwood's. CG in park. (No HU.) Very cool (30s) at night. Many CG will be closed by Columbus Day.

October is getting too late to see any fall colors. Try to go in September if possible.
