Marina Dunes - Just North of Monterey

We are headed to the Marina Dunes RV park north of Monterey. Anyone ever been there? The family wants to check out the Monterey Bay Aquarium.

We stayed a night there last spring. The front desk was nice, the bathrooms were clean, there was a playground for kids and it seemed well kept. On the negative side, there was a bit of freeway noise, and it can be cold, foggy and windy. It's located on the beach side of the freeway, but it is a long walk to the beach. It's not convenient walking distance to anything, in fact, although there is a Walmart within easy driving distance. Enjoy the Aquarium!

Thanks! We read about the freeway noise and someone suggested to get a spot on the beach rather than the road side. We are expecting cold weather for a November visit.

We have stayed there many times. We like it just fine. The wifi was sketchy but the staff was very helpful in accomodating our needs which are probably more than others require.

Just accross the freeway is the townof Marina so you are close to groceries, things like that. A few nice parks as well. Easy access to Monterrey and Carmel. Nothing right around the RV park though.

It is a short hike to the beach, lots of protected area for Snowy Plovers. Also the surf and the beach is what I call a tortured sea so depending on the age of children they should not go unsupervised. I leashed my dog (lots of people did not which was fine) because I was fearful he would chase a bird and hit the water and be swept out so far he could not be retreived.

Always a stiff onshore breeze.
