My DW and I are thinking about a 2 week get away to Kentucky. We tow a jeep. We like setting up in a CW then branching out from there with the jeep. We are both outdoor people so being in the "outback" is where we enjoy most. Thanks for any suggestions.

IN kentucky.. About the best suggestion is to pin a map of KY up on the wall, Put on a blindfold and throw a dart.. I'm serious here.

I take I-75 through Ky and there are darn few places I would not like to stop.. We usually spend a night at a Moose lodge we stop at.. Alas that's kind of lonely. We have spent some time in US Forest service parks (Blue Heron) and there is so much more.

Throw a dart is really the best advice I can give.

Just came from there, Mammoth Cave is pretty cool (Frozen Niagara tour )and has a nice campground. The Bourbon Tour is fun to do and interesting even if you don't drink (ask about the passport at the first one ) Bowling Green has the GM Corvette factory tour and the Corvette Museum housing over 70 Corvettes, Abraham Lincolns birth place and childhood home and museum are there too.

A couple of years ago we stayed at Barren River state park. We really liked it, they have some full hook up sites and pull through sites. It was about 30 mins to Bowling Green. The corvette museum was worth the trip. We also visited Mammouth Cave. There are lots of tours to choose from. Last year we stayed at Big Bone Lick state park in the northern part of kentucky. This was also a nice park. There is a little museum to see with historic bones, a buffalo herd, walking trail and a nice pool in the campground. We would definitely visit both parks again.

Many thanks to the suggestions. We will be looking at all and as of right now we will be heading to the State of Kentucky. We live in the very south eastern part of Texas.
