Meet half way

We have some old friends in northern Indiana. We are in N Florida and looking for a good place to camp for several days with kids. What is out there about half way between the two that we could enjoy?

Nashville, TN. Stay at the KOA North (pictured in the forum header). Plenty to do there.

How is it one careless match can start a forest fire but it takes a whole box to start a campfire?

There's a nice RV park in Chattanooga, close to several attractions. We've been to the Aquarium and there's a national park that overlooks the city on bluffs if you're a Civil War buff.

Nashville is also a choice, several amusement parks, Grand Old Opera.

This is a great RV park lots of things to do there, and close to everything. Will be staying there again this year on our way back from our trip out west.

X2 Mammouth Caves. Also Lookout Mountain on the border of Tennessee and Georgia is beautiful (not quite in the middle of your trip, but recommend considering). Rock City and Ruby Falls are both tourists stops, but worth the time. There is a nice KOA close by.

For families with kids, it is hard to beat Sevier County Tn for lots of things to do. We are at River Plantation RV Resort just south of Sevierville right now and it is a nice quiet campground on the river in spite of being just off the busting highway and I believe it may be less expensive than the places actually in Pigeon Forge, but not as close to the PF activities, Gatlinburg and the park.

although I might consider staying higher in the mountain like at Smokey Bear Campground, and I also x2 the Nashville vote. That whole area is amazing.

I agree with the Smoky Mountains. There's something for everyone whether you prefer to quietly contemplate nature or ride a raucous roller coaster.
