We will be visiting Memphis Tenn in march of 2006 looking for full hook up site for a week. I have read about 3 or 4 places, Woundering if anyone out there has any feedback on a good one.

2 years ago, we stayed down in Tunica, MS at the Grand Casino RV campground. Great sites, just no trees/shade. Free transportation to/from any of the Grand properties. Only about a 20 minute drive to Memphis.

I live in Memphis. I can tell you where you should NOT go. Graceland KOA. Not a good location. Elvis bought Graceland when it was almost in the country. Not anymore. Graceland isn't unsafe, but I wouldn't recommend camping nearby. What places have you read about?

We just got back from Memphis and we stayed at Tom Sawyers campground in West Memphis, AR. It's just across the river from Memphis. It has full hook up(no cable), shade, right on Mississippi. I would rate it a 7.5 and would stay there again. Price is good also.

This Orangeman will second the Volunteer's recommendation of Tom Sawyer CG, would go out of our way to use their facilities. Be aware, it is inside the levy and can get pretty damp during the flood season.

Here's a link to their site: http://www.woodalls.com/a/02850_TomSawyers.html

Have a good one.

America's Best Campground, listed as Marion Ar. (http://www.campmemphis.com) is a GOOD place to stay and is just across the river from Memphis. We have been there twice and liked it. Another lesser-known spot is the Agricenter RV Park. It is a large multi-use facility and they have now installed full hook ups and pull throughs. see http://www.agricenter.org It is just east of town off Walnut Grove Rd and surrounded by county parks. When we stayed there, they had not completed the full hook sites, but water and elec are available on HUNDREDS of sites.
