We are considering a trip to Memphis in April...not firm, just thinking. I know there is good BBQ, Blues, Rock & Roll stuff...otherwise is it worth a trip?

Also, any comments on the RV park across from/near to Graceland.

SMLRANGER, It has been about three years since Eileen and I went to Memphis, but we really enjoyed GRACELAND, it is a major tourist attraction and well worth at least 1/2 a day. Memphis is very hard to get around in because the streets are narrow and most in bad repair in Memphis proper. We parked in TUNICA, MS GRAND CASINO RV PARK, which is about 20 miles south of Graceland and where all the Casinos are located. We drove our toad into Memphis to see the sites. You need to contact the Chamber of Commerce to get a city map and guide to all the cival war sites and graceland. Here is a link to the Casino RV park:

We have enjoyed Memphis in the past. We aren't Elvis fans, but others have said they enjoyed Graceland. We liked the Peabody Hotel, the Rendevous for BBQ and the music. If you're BBQ fans, try to time your visit with the big annual international BBQ contest they have there.

We stayed at Tom Sawyer RV Park in West Memphis, which is just over the Miss. River in Arkansas. A great park with sites spittin' distance of the Big Muddy.

We also stayed at Tom Sawyer in West Memphis Arkansas about 30 minutes from Graceland. We spent a week in the campground (Mar 2007). The river traffic is a very relaxing pastime and the campground and host are "First Class".
