Anyone have a recommended RV park in the Mesa/Gilbert, AZ area for a 2-3 night stay. Most of the RV parks in the area appear to be the mega (1000+ sites) that are set up for long term (winter) residents. Will be passing through there in Mid-Sept visiting relatives in Gilbert.

We stayed in Mesa once short term and that was enough for us. Sorry I can't find anything decent to say about the local RV parks.

If you happen to be Thousand Trails members, there is an RV park called Countryside RV Park that is currently a reciprocal park, but I believe it may be in Apache Junction.

Larry, we have stayed a couple of toimes at Apache Palms that is in Tempe. All sites are gravel with cement pads. Without a doubt this is one of the cleanest and well managed parks around. Every morning 2 guys go around sweeping loose gravel off of the roadways and back into the sites. If you are a smoker or a pet owner you best pay attention to the "Pick 'em up Rules". If you don't they will not hesitate to ask you to leave. It is real simple if you don't like this rule don't go or if you do abide by it, Ken, '04 DSDP...

We've stayed at the Mesa Regal a couple of times, once for a full month and another time for just one week. It is one of those mega 1000+ parks, but there were quite a few people who only stayed a few days or a week and then moved on. The park is clean and has a lot of ammenities. We enjoyed our stays there.

I live in Gilbert,& I worked in the Park Model industry for many years in this area -- Most of the "mega" parks are filled with park models, but they keep spaces for short term stays -- Most are age restricted -- Apache Junction is to far away, & Gilbert has no RV parks -- In Sept. you should have a wide choice of parks -- Don`t know where Big Sky Bob stayed, but about 160,000 snowbirds seem to enjoy it every year -- Bill Willard

Valle del Oro is a beautiful RV park in Mesa. It's conveniently close to Hwy 60 & Ellsworth. They have mostly long-term but do have some short-term sites. We stayed there for a few days once with our daughter. It is a 55+ community but we were younger at that time. We loved it.
