Michigan Trip in July with TT

Thinking about planning a trip to Michigan in July. Was thinking traverse city and maybe another stop south near Lake Michigan. Any recommended campgrounds or activities? We will be traveling with 4 kids and our TT.

I highly recommend checking campgroundreviews.com. we have never been surprised when arriving at the park and most times are delighted with the destination. This goes for overnight stops as well as destination stops. No affiliation, just happy user.

Traverse City State Park is on the beach only a couple miles to downtown via bike path. Book early especially for travel the first week (National Cherry Festival) or last week (Traverse City Film Festival) of July.

The whole Traverse City surrounding area is awesome. There's so much to do. Sleeping Bear Dunes Nat'l Lakeshore 's Platte River Campground is a beauty but check for reservations now. It's very popular and is their other campground at Glen Arbor - D.H. Day. There are plenty of campgrounds in the area if you can't get into those. Petosky is another nice area. Try to take the ferry ride to Mackinac Island for a day trip and rent bikes and buy fudge. Manistee and Ludington are great, too. Those are all high visitation areas so make reservations ASAP. Have a great summer.

Definitely try Indigo Bluffs in Empire, MI. And don't miss the Grand Haven area. Grand Haven State Park is on the Lake Michigan Beach. South Haven is a fantastic place as well.
