Midway, BC, Boundary Area

So if you are traveling along the BC Border at all this summer, I just want to put out a heads up on a couple of really nice experiences in the town of Midway BC.

First off, the Bored Room Cafe in Midway. All the food made completely from scratch. Fresh fruit pies which have to be sampled to explain how good they are. Also for a town of about 600, they have served about 1900 pizza's in a six month frame. Very casual but worth a stop if you are hungry or even if not.

Same town

Midway RV Park. Nice rural park with full hookups (30 amp). Cost us $20.00 per night. Great if you are looking to get a couple of days of total peace and quiet while on the road. Just turn off Hwy 3 at the self-store facility (only one direction to choose from) and follow the signs for about 3 blocks. Heard about it in town and gave it a try. Wasn't sorry in the least. Oh yeah, free wireless too.

Good biking in the area.

Used to live a few miles south of there. The Kettle river valley is probably the best kept secret on the east side of the cascade mountains both sides of the US/Canada border. Beautiful country, low population, good roads. Summer weather is great, a little cold in winter. If I could talk my wife into moving, I would be living there tomorrow.
