Midwest campground ideas needed

Looking for a nice campground in the Midwest. Needs to be on a decent fishing lake with boat rentals avail. Would like a resort feel and various adult activities including an onsite bar. Camping in a 35ft class A for a week with no kids.

Thanks for your ideas in advance!

That's a tall order. I don't know what you call Midwest. I lived in the Dayton, Ohio area for 18 years and they called that Midwest. I said how can you call it Midwest when you are in the Eastern time zone. Anyway, Ohio has no natural lakes (except Lake Erie). Fantastic walleye fishing in Lake Erie.

You probably won't find ANY RV resorts in the Midwest that don't allow kids. Only in the snowbird areas of the deep south will you find adult only RV resorts. As for the fishing and boat rentals you might check around Table Rock Lake (Branson) MO or Lake of the Ozarks, MO. Finding an on site bar at any of those places could also be a problem but you can find them close by. Both of those areas get very busy in the summer.

You may also look in Wisconsin or Minnesota. Lots of lakes in those two states. Check www.allstays.com for possible RV Resorts.

Good Luck!!

I didn't think your request was for a cg that didn't allow kids, just that you weren't traveling with them. Branson has a city owned cg right on Table Rock Lake, not sure about rentals. I think it's close to the waterfront shops & restaurants. Check Grand Lake in NE Oklahoma, several rv parks on the water and marinas, not sure about rentals. Beaver Lake in NW Arkansas has several Corps of Engineers cg's and marinas, again, not sure about rentals.

If you can narrow down that "midwest" term a bit more, our members could better provide suggestions. Here on iRV2 midwest covers from OH up to MN & down to KS. That's a pretty big territory.

Midwest campground ideas needed

The Midwest is a big area. That said we really enjoyed the Corps of Engineers campgrounds when we were traveling through that part of the country a few years back. They are always located close to bodies of water and very spacious. No bars though

This will have everything you are looking for other than on site bar. Eureka Springs, AR is about 30-45 minutes away and Branson is 30 or so minutes also. Many other lakes in the area with great fishing also.

Lake of the Ozarks also has many campgrounds around the lake with excellent fishing, some have bars on site, but they will have kids in the campgrounds. If that doesn't bother you I would look at several, Captain Ron's and Bear Bottom Resort each has campgrounds with vibrant bar scene. Lake of the Ozarks is not a Corp lake, so you have many water front restaurants and bars, great shopping, many great golf courses, fishing, places to rent fishing boats, or hire a guide. Good Luck in your search.
