Corpus has mostly 50 amp, but I only needed 30 amps. It saved me a few bucks a night. Although they only offered me vacant 30 amp sites and the one we got wasn't as nice as some of the available 50 amp sites. I would have paid the extra for the 50 amp but didn't want to go back to the registration office in the Marina.

We stayed at Lackland AFB because we were there to visit my wife's brother who lives on the west side of San Antonio. I have heard the Ft Sam camp is nice though.

I was stationed in Kingsville back in the 80's for 3 years but have not been back. Thanks for the CC info. Headed to Ft Sam on Wednesday for a few nights.

Thats great. Let me know how you like Ft Sam. Keep in mind that Corpus Christy takes reservations, but it doesn't seem like you really need them. There were several spots open when we arrived on a Friday afternoon.

Ft Sam is OK...but look closely at your entry roads...lots of trees; especially the entrance road, which, when a vehicle is coming from the other direction; well, the cemetery doesn't maintain their trees for RV entry.

Good point. I only have a 19' TT and it is about 8.5 feet tall at its highest point so I shouldn't have a problem most places. I have seen some big 5th wheels that tower over the truck and can see where they would have to be especially vigilant. I guess with my shorter trailer I have a false sense of security and should probably be more aware of stuff like that. I did notice some leaves under my antenna when I got back from my trip....Not really sure where I grabbed those. It must have been at Lackland....That is the only place I parked under any trees.

If I can download them, I will do some further research to see if I can incorporate them into my GPS.
Just go to the Military Campground site. It will be listed on the site. I had to try it a couple of different ways.

Just checked and the site is down presently. Here is another place to try.

Military Listing - Generic form

Not sure which type of GPS you have but here is a CSV file with the Military FamCamps.

Cannot upload the file. Message me and I'll attach.
