Has anyone ever went to Mission,Tx. for the winter. We are looking at Mission Gardens and would like to know if anyone has ever been there and what kind of comments you have.

. We have stayed in mission the past three years and the weather is great. You will see signs down there welcoming winter Texans that is what they call you . Also, if you go to Progresso Mexico. They also call you winter Texans we have had absolutely no problems down there . The only thing I can say is, sometimes it is a little windy. Besides that I think you'll enjoy yourself. We will be down there sometime in January

My parents have stayed at El Valle Del Sol in Mission the last 10 years (Nov - April). As far as monthly fee, they are lower than most. They have a large dance hall (Peppermint Palace Recreation Hall) and a Carpenter Shop & Rock Shop.

There are so many other campgrounds in the area, there are other events that they go to. So you might stay at one park, but visit dances, health fairs, bingo, luncheons at other parks....

Yes, they have said there are periods of wind, so bring awning straps.

Before diesel prices went up you had to reserve a site a few months ahead. But now, they said there always seems to be open spots. They always put a deposit down when they leave to get the same site for the next year.
