I think there is a national seashore in Ocean Springs. The campground is not near the water and I would not consider it big rig friendly because of the low hanging trees though there are those that would disagree. There are lots of campgrounds on US 90 along the Gulf Coast and some of them are just a block away from the water. We winter in Gulfport but at the military base. We are probably about a mile from the beach.

Try Gulf Haven Campground in Gulfport, Mississippi. Small and basic campground (the whole thing is gravel) but less than a block away from the beach. You can see the water from the campsites. The owners, Dan and Sue, are very, very nice and helpful. Good luck!

We drove by Silver Slipper and I did not think it was that close to the water. There are a bunch of campgrounds on US 90. They are not right on the beach but that is a good thing. One can drive much of US 90 and have unencumbered views of the water.

I don't know what Sliver Slipper you drove by but the campsites at this Silver Slipper RV park are across a 2 lane road, (South Beach Boulevard), from a Gulf of Mexico beach...RV Park - Silver Slipper Casino

BTW the campground at nearby Buccaneer State Park has similar sites.

My bad. Silver Slipper is way out of the way and we only drove by once.
