Mississippi or Alabama

Looking for a nice campground in central Mississippi or central Alabama for a weeks stay! Our motorhome is 37 ft so I need a little bit of area for maneuvering. Park can be state, national, Coe, or private - we are from south Louisiana. Thanks!!

This isn't Central MS or Al, but the nicest RV park that I've ever stayed in is Bella Terra in Foley, AL.

Tannehill Historical State Park between Tuscaloosa and Birmingham, AL. Google the above name for info. You will not find them listed with the other AL State parks. It is a beautiful good walking park.

I can highly recommend both Trace State Park in Mississippi and Oak Mountain in Alabama. Nice lakefront sites in both parks. Both have full service sites (including sewer), and are very scenic. Oak Mountain is larger and has more to do, including a golf course, nature preserve, and many miles of hiking trails.

Check out Corinth COE Recreation Area in the Bankhead National Forest near Double Springs, AL. Not much to do, but it's nice and quiet. One loop has full hookup sites. Not too far from Red Bay if you wanted to stop for a factory tour.

One of the best COE Parks is in Pickensville, Al. It is on the MS/AL line and overlooking Tombigee river traffic. Beautiful huge lots, 50 amp, water and some with sewer. Good cell phone service also. This is our favorite COE park and we have covered most of them in Al and MS.. Town of Aliceville, AL is 14 miles and Columbus, MS about 30-35 miles, a good to see Aliceville Mansion and Lock and Dam about. 2 miles. Great bike riding also. Don't think you will be disappointed.

Open Pond campground in the Coneche National Forest in southern Alabama 18 miles south of Andalusia. Google it. We love it there. One draw back for some folks is difficulty getting phone and tv signals.
