Moab area Mother's Day 2015

Looking for a campground for Mother's Day weekend in the Moab area. We have a 24' trailer, would like 30 amp and water, but value space and quiet more than the amenities. Any recommendations for a RV park or a BLM campground? Am I dreaming that we can find some place not crazy that time of year?

The one I stay at is quiet about a mile from the highway on the back of town.
It shouldn't be busy that time of year

Make sure that you do not show up on Jeep week. Place is full then. And do not use the KOA they will not change or refund reservations even if you hit a deer and are delayed by a week. Happened to me last year.

Canyon lands park is awesome! No hookups or water, but that small camper, no prob. Out of this world, so quiet & patrol very agreeable! Stayed extra nights, it was that nice

I would highly recommend Dead Horse Point State Park for awesome views. It does have electric but you'd have to bring your water tank filled. They take reservations and that's a popular time so make them now. The sites are large and very scenic.

If you're boondocking, x2 for Dead Horse State Park. For hook-ups and some amenities, give Spanish Trail RV Park a whirl. It's on the southern end of Moab and kind of removed from the rivers and OHVs.

I don't consider Dead Horse Point State Park 'boondocking'. They do have electric. It's a wonderful campground.

We stayed at Riverside Oasis for couple nights last Aug, it was nice with some large trees for shade and grass to keep dust down. Walk to back of park and the river is right there. Spots a little tight and close together, but have seen worse for sure. It is located at north end of town, not too far from Arches national Park entrance.

Only drawback I could think is they are putting up a big hotel property right next to Oasis, it was under construction when we were there. Might be more noise now from hotel.
