Moab - mid November?

Two brothers and I are thinking about it. Bad time of year? Worthwhile for first trip into the area? On to Phoenix near the middle of the month, I suppose.

I spent the whole week before thanksgiving there and had great weather. It can be cold or beautiful out. I would plan a trip and if the weather goes sour change your plans.

About 5 years back we spent the week of Thanksgiving there. Nights were nice and chilly days were beautiful, 60s and warm desert sun. I wouldn't hesitate going then.

November is a great time for Moab, IMHO. The crowds & heat are gone. I'd always rather be a lil cooler than hot. Thanksgiving week itself can get a bit crowded with all the holiday folks.

Well, that settles it. Looks like we're continuing with the plan. Thanks for your responses. And like it was said, if the weather turns sour, we'll move on to somewhere else from the Moab area.

Last year we made a January trip to most of the RGV strip in Texas. We weren't impressed enough to go back this year. That's basically what that particular road trip was all about. This Moab trip is the beginning of scoping out a portion of the SW.

We've got ten days or so of time on our hands, scheduled for this first leg of the colder months. The plan is to leave the coach in storage down there (eventually Phoenix or Las Vegas) after the Moab leg and commute, so to speak, back and forth from KC by Toad and/or commercial airline as time permits over the winter. Hopefully there is a place we can park the coach for less than $100/mo. when we're gone.

The end of the total journey will likely culminate with a stay near Phoenix in March or April, with baseball Spring training and some golf as the feature, with some other friends of mine.

There is bound to be a ton of cheaper things to do and see in the SW for me/us. I've never been in the area except for flying in and out of Vegas. And it is bound to be warmer than Missouri on most days. Well see where it goes from here.

Once again folks, thanks for your responses.
