Montana - Florida - Scenic Route
We are in West Glacier, MT, and going to be headed to south florida. I have looked at the direct routes, and found that with a little extra miles, I can take a much more scenic route. I am curious if anyone can tell me the conditions of the US-2 from West Glacier to Michigan.
Once in Michigan, I was going to take the US28 to I75.
Is this route worth the extra miles, and doable in a 43' motorhome?

I know Rt 2 in UP and it is nice. Can't speak to the rest of it. I came to GTNP from Naples FL and went I10to TX then US Rt 287 all the way here. Pretty nice trip.

Rt 2 is pretty good all the way to MI from MT. There are a few very lonely stretches on it in MT and ND, but okay otherwise.

Lots if small towns - some oil construction going on. But much more scenic than the big roads.
Very doable in a 43' coach. Actually a nice 2-lane HWY. Some of it 4-lane

Take it you'll like it. Why not take hwy 2 on across Michigan to I-75 and cross the straits of Mackinac on the mighty Mac bridge heading South on I-75. Noel

We have traveled US 2 across the top of the USA.........A lot better than the interstate, get to see the great lakes, then stop and tour Mackinac Island , a step back in time for sure, and enjoy one of your favorite beverages on the front porch of the Grand Hotel. A buddy of mine just came back to Pa. from Glacier across R.2, he loved it.........especially when thinking about going through Chicago !
