Montana for RVers

Johnny Cash once said, "I have been everywhere man". But, most RVers have not ...

So, I was thinking the other day ... Oh no, DW has that look that I know so well every time I get to thinking ... I told her, no really, I was thinking that RVers want to go and see places, but they don't much enjoy burning diesel just to get there ... So, I said to self, "Self, why not ask others at the irv2 forum for feedback before you start them engines ..."

So, what I'm looking to do is get feedback from others that are familiar with specific states to help snowbirds and sunbirds with their travels.

Since Montana is a favorite place for many RVers ...

What parts of Montana do you recommend for other RVers? ... What parts would you put in the category of not worth the diesel needed to get there?

I think, in time, we could build a database from threads like this for each state in the US, places in Canada, Alaska, etc.

Should like to see a data base for different areas as well. Have a cousin in Missoula that we plan to see this summer. And have a good friend from Rangers in RVN days who is a Lakota elder (as he puts it, everyone else dies off and now you are the elder and expected to be wise). He said that the Native Nations have excellent and fairly inexpensive campgrounds and there is supposed to be some great CGs. Were at Glacier six years ago but it can get very crowded.

We are booked in Ennis,Mt. For the month of August.
Quiet town about 1200 people. Was there for 3 weeks two years ago.
Ennis RV Village, I believe on the N. Edge of town.
"fly fishing" Capitol of the world, so they say.
Southwestern part of mt.

Yes. There are so many beautiful places in North America for RVers ... I think in time, we will have lots of information available in these kinds of threads to help us find places to go and things to do to keep us busy for a lifetime.

I think having a separate thread for each state, and places in Canada, is a good way of doing this. That is, in the future, if someone plans to go say to Montana, they could find out about some of the specific information for RVing in that beautiful state from what others have entered in here. If going to Arizona, well then there is another thread for that, and so on ...

Some information on Blackfeet Indian Reservation in Montana and associated RV parks.

About Blackfeet Country ~ NW Montana ~ next to Glacier National Park

Does anyone here have first hand information on that area of Montana, RV parks and Boondocking locations?

It's simple to use the forum search function to find all the threads about the different destinations.

Columbia Falls RV Park in Columbia Falls is very nice! Close to Glacier National Park, too.

Don't forget just to the west is Virginia City (First Capital of Montana) and Nevada City, two old mining towns. Norris Hot Springs just north of town.

For those that need to see the roads and the drive between Columbia Falls MT and Glacier National Park.

On Hwy 2, shown on the video, it's less than 20 miles
