Monthly Snowbirding?
Tell me if this is possible:
Reserve a spot in southern FL (south of I-4) for 4 or 5 months (Dec-Apr) and only show up for a week or less for each of those months.
Do RV places allow that? Do others do that?
I would want my coach connected to 50 amps the whole time. FHU's would be best as that would make staying there that much easier when I did show up.

I know some places out in AZ do this but you pay for the full time your hooked up, I know other places will let you put your rig in their storage for the time your not there, not sure about FL

I wasn't looking for a discount, so I expect to pay the normal charges. I'm also not looking for "storage" as I want to drive it there, setup, leave and come back as opportunities allow.

Even at Fort Wilderness in Disney World people park their RVs for many months and only show up a few days at about $130.00 a dat!

I would think that if you're paying their normal rate for duration of your reservation, they could care less if you or your coach was actually there or not. Why would they?

Yeah, why would they care if you're there or not? If you're paying the monthly rate they wouldn't come around to see if anyone is in the coach. We spent 4mos. at Wilderness RV Resort in Silver Springs, Fl. and only saw our neighbors a couple times.

Thanks for the replies. Not knowing all the rules campgrounds use, I wasn't sure if the idea was off base or not. Now I just need to find a perfect, inexpensive place

We stay in Winterhaven, CA. and lease a RV lot by the year. They do not care if you leave your RV lot there or not. Many do - we do not. If you are not there they do not put overnighters on your spot. We have fixed our site up to meet our needs.
We are about 150 miles from San Diego, Phoenix and Palm Springs, 15 minutes from Mexico.
We pay 2400.00 per year. They also have 3 and 6 month leases but they will fill the lot with overnighters in the periods your lease does not cover.
