This park, near Welches,OR is just east of Portland, and ideally located for day trips. On the slopes of the Mt. Hood watershead, it is adjacent to The Wildwood Recreation Site, managed by the BLM. A path from the camp leads into the park, a series of trails through moss draped trees and fern covered ground, along the Salmon River. The Mt. Hood ski areas are within easy driving distance.
The park, although pricey, has nice sites under the trees. Very clean, offers indoor pool and hot tub. Probably because the winters are cold and wet. We hit it during great weather. Town with shopping and restaraunts nearby. Here for six days, could have used more. Proper review pending.
