We went here this weekend, lovely Florida State Park. Lots to do - huge park ! We hiked, biked and rented a canoe to go up the Myakka River. Also airboat rides and lots and lots of animals to see. Two campground areas within the park and also a 7 mile scenic ride! We really loved it and will definitely go back.

Myakka is only an hour from our home and we never get to camp there because they are one of the SP's that don't allow pets. It's a great park to visit and lots of credit goes to the Friends of Myakka who really did a super job in helping to fix the park and make it a great one. Now if we can get them to allow pets...

The reason we don't go there is because of the no pet rule also.

Jody & Jeff,I have been looking at their web site,it looks pretty good! Did you have advance reservations? Just wondering if it was crowded this time of the year as we are hoping to head to Fl. in the very near future! Thanks..
