Myrtle Beach in January
We are considering a trip to MB to take the kids to Medieval Times or the Pirate Show for my son's birthday. We are looking for a campground with cabins or some other form of rental (with bathroom) for the grandparents who will be joining us. Anyone with recommendations or experience in Myrtle Beach this time of year?

Ocean Lake looks really nice. Pirateland looks fun for the kids (in warmer weather). There is a KOA also that seems to have cabins but it doesn't look as nice as Ocean Lake. We did have a good stay at the KOA in Cherokee over Thanksgiving, so that was the first thing we looked at for MB.
We only live about 90 miles up the coast but we haven't been down since we got the camper. I know the weather could be a good bit cold but around here, it could be 65 too. Carolina is unpredictable that way.

Myrtle Beach in January
We stayed at Myrtle Beach Travel Park and really enjoyed it. I am not sure if they have rental cabins or trailers though.

Ocean Lakes is your best bet. Plenty of RV sites and literally hundreds of homes/cottages for rent.
We have stayed there in Jan and February several times over the years. While it can be windy and cold in January, we've been there when it was really warm and pleasant. Never know.

Been to Ocean Lakes for a dozen years or more... Like the proximity to the beach, etc. For kids there's lots to do in warm weather, and some inside options for cold wet days.

If you want warm..
M.B. is iffy... 70 one day and light snow a couple of days later, that time of year.

Others have helped on the CG’s. We have been to both Medievel Times and the Pirates. The atmosphere and food are about equal. You might want to bring some plastic utensils if you don’t like eating with your hands. They do supply soup spoons! We like Medieval times better than pirates; very exciting but like TV wrestling sometimes it’s obviously a staged event.
We took our three year old great nephew to MT and he was just awe struck. Bought him a lighted sword and he played with it for days.

We were there in Sept and they have about 40 units they call Villa's which are nice mobile home units. 20 of the units are on the south side of the campground near the indoor pool. Watch the weather carefully as there is a large cold front going to park itself in the east and mid-Atlantic states over the next week.

Are those events going to be running that time of year?
We go to MB in the off season regularly. The touristy things close up in sept some time and don't start back up until march I think. just make sure the places you are planning on are doing their thing.
Thats why we go in the off season, the whole place to ourselves. We went in November a few years ago and so nice to have the boardwalk and Christmas lights all to ourselves. But really nothing else was open. We try to go in early oct that way there are some places still open but hotels and campgrounds are cheaper. The water is still warm then. Went in early march and water was way too cold.
