I know it's a long ways off but we may be in Myrtle Beach the 3rd weekend in October for a three day car cruise/gathering. Any campgrounds I should not consider? any recommendations?
Thanks for all input. If it makes any difference the car stuff will be centered around the Inlet Square Mall... Thanks

If I remember correctly we had out 1st IRV2 National at Ocean Lakes CG in Myrtle Beach. We were there the weekend of Labor Day. Let me tell you, the town literally closed down after Labor Day! All the touristy things shut up tight. Labor Day signaled the end of summer.
But, you said that you were attending a car show. We really like Ocean Lakes but I don't know if they are open after the season.

Hi,
We are native SC Rvers. We will be at Ocean Lakes for a rally in March. I don't know when Cybervet went to Mybh,, but it must have been a long time ago, because the beach never closes. There are dozens of really huge campgrounds on the beach. The camping directories list most of them. The main concern you may have is where the car rally is held. Ocean Lakes is on the south end of the area. If the rally is at North Myrtle Beach, you may want to look at one on the north end. IF you are a Coast to Coast member, there is a C2C park at the north end.
You will have more available than you can do, so don't worry about that. The weather should be really nice at that time also.
Good Luck
SeaRay

Grumpy Dave, Inlet Square Mall is on the south side of Myrtle Beach - in Surfside/Garden City area. Ocean Lakes, Lakewood, or Pirateland campgrounds are the ones you should consider. All 3 of them are basically side by side on the oceanside and are about 7 minutes from Inlet Square Mall. Huntington State Park is something else you could consider. It is farther south, on the ocean side and would still only be about 7 to 10 minutes from the mall. We have a place in Ocean Lakes and this place stays busy until December. It picks back up in March. Most of the resturants, etc are open year round. The only things that close are the junky shops that sell the typical T-shirts, boogie boards, beach towels, etc. Hope all of this helps.
