To the OP, I am a little biased when it comes to the Grand Canyon but one day would not be sufficient to me.

Going to do some of the same places in early Oct. Starting out at Monument Valley. Moving on to Kodachrome Basin SP as a base camp. I plan to visit Bryce, Capitol Reef, and Grand Staircase from there. I may try some 4WD trails near Panguitch. Then on to Zion for 2 days.

Any recomendations on the easiest route from Albuquerque to Monument Valley?

I would generally agree on more than one day at the Grand Canyon too. But the OP plans on just the North rim. One day probably more than enough for north rim in late October. Could even be snow there at that point ??

To answer your question, an hour at the north rim will be more than enough if you do not hike. Elevation there is 9000 ft, so will be cool. Kanab has an RV park on the south side of town. It is a 45 min drive from there to the east entrance of Zion. If you have a toad, Zion is well worth it, but the tunnel is a pain with an rv. Zion and Bryce are both drive thru parks, with Zion having a mandatory shuttle system until 1 Nov. I would park at Ruby's Inn at Bryce, full hookups and just outside the park. Enjoy. This is the most beautiful part of this great country

A BIG thanks for all the great info.

We are now in Jackson Hole @ Coulter Bay RV park. Highly recommended.
