Naples|Ft. Meyers, Fl RV Parks

We want to snowbird in the Naples/Ft. Meyers area. Never been there. Looking at about a month stay. Can anyone recommend a nice RV park for an extended stay?

We are in FM at Cypress Trail. It has a great pool and clubhouse. Nice lots sidewalks lots of palm trees. Very friendly. A very nice park.

I stayed at Cypress last year and liked it as well. Lots of great choices in Naples. I have been to Pelican Lakes(nicest of them all, and motor coach only), Naples Motorcoach Resort, Neopolitan Cove, and Paradise Point. All great choices depending on how fancy you want to go.

Many will only book Jan, Feb, Mar. together as a 3-month package. Those that do 1 month reservations book fast-and early. Do not expect to find a spot for less than $1,000/month along the SW Florida coast.

River Bend is very nice. My one and only issue with them is location.
We stayed at Silver Palms two years and it is very nice as well. But again location. Both are in the middle of no place. I love being in Fort Myers. One of the nicest cities to live in... Well at least for 6 months.

After hearing so many folks tell us that we just had to spend some time in that part of the state - we were a little disappointed that we couldn't find anywhere that had a spot available for us on our trip this year (the result of us not being able to plan our trip until my wife's retirement date was firmed up (which wasn't until the beginning of November)).

So ... while we were in Florida (staying up near Tampa) - we took a day to drive south in the toad specifically for the purpose of finding a park for next year's trip (2017). We identified roughly 10 parks and then laid out a route to visit each of them. I'm so glad we did ... while the area and most of the parks were definitely nice ... the traffic and congestion we dealt with throughout that region during our mid-week side trip convinced us that we'd rather look elsewhere. Way more traffic than I'm willing to deal with voluntarily.

We were really surprised by the traffic last February but we got used to it and then it didn't seem as bad. If you can't find anything for a month but want to be in the area for a shorter time, look at WP Franklin COE Park. It's not right in Fort Myers but it's an easy drive and the price is right. No sewer or wifi so that can be a deal breaker for some. They do have a dump station. The booking window is 6 months in advance. We're hoping to be there in the beginning of Feb. next winter.
