Nashville, TN campgrounds

Thoughts on Nashville KOA vs Nashville Shores in late March? We've stayed at the KOA twice, loved it and the shuttle to downtown. But staying on a lake is very appealing!!

Besides Nashville Shores, There is the Army Corp of Engr ACOE 7 Points @ Percy Lake, Nashville. With my Nat'l Parks Pass I paid only $12 nite. I have stayed in two nice spaces near the water, boat launch and swimming area are #40 & 29. http://www.lrn.usace.army.mil/Locati...venPoints.aspx Reservations are needed!

While in TN, another great place to stay is Loretta Lynn's Ranch in Hurricane Mills. I parked right along the river. Loretta Lynn Ranch

Other places of interest in TN are: George Dickel Whisky Distillery, Jack Daniles Whiskey Distillery, and Ole Smokeys Moonshine Distillery in Gatlinburg.

Also in nearby KY is the Bourbon TraIl: Woodford Reserve Distillery, Wild Turkey Distillery, Four Roses Distillery, Heaven Hill, Maker's Mark, Jim Beam, and Wild Turkey.

Passed by the Nashville KOA on Music Valley Drive the other day. They are doing a lot of construction, looks like upgrades, which were needed. My guess this construction will not be completed by the end of March, but I may be wrong. I would suggest looking at Nashville Jellystone Yogi Bear Campground then Two Rivers Campground, in that order.

We stayed at the Nashville KOA last November, Construction was going on then. We do not like trees hanging over our 5th wheel and the other two campgrounds in the area have lots of trees. The KOA is expensive but we only stay for a couple of days and utilize the downtown shuttle. No way would we drive our dually downtown.
