Natchez Trace Parkway

Doing the 444 miles this spring. Does anyone know of camping a long the way?

Tishomingo State park is about 30 miles north of Tupelo and have a nice campground on a lake. They also have canoeing on Bear Creek in the park. There at several campgrounds around Ross Barnett Resevoir north of Jackson Ms. Just remember that there are no fuel stops or signs for fuel along the entire Trace, plan accordingly.

You can get off the trace in Tupelo, Florence AL, and Cherokee, just to name a few spots for fuel. I live about 15 minutes from Tishomingo state park and would not recommend the campground. Instead,in the same area try the piney Grove cg at the bay Springs exit.

IMP: Boring, boring, boring. Most historic sites gone, little to see, few really scenic pullouts, rude local drivers, too few campgrounds, more trees than you'll ever want to see again.

Well, I thoroughly enjoyed it!. Maybe I'm just easily entertained.
The scenery was great. A relaxing 45 or 50 mph and the only traffic was near towns around lunch or rush hour. If you've seen it before, then maybe it isn't so exciting, but we hadn't, and really enjoyed it.
We stayed at a cg just across the river from Natchez, in Vidalia LA. IIRC it was Riverside RV park, or something like that. It was right on the Mississippi and convenient to Natchez.
We also spent a night at Barnes Crossing and agree with the above endorsement.

You could always stay a night at the Wally World in Tupelo. It's free and safe! We spent a night there in Dec, and will be spending a night in early May on the way to Colorado.

I like traveling the Trace. Low traffic and lower speed. Time to enjoy the trees going by.

I must say that in all the comments I have seen concerning the Trace, yours is the first negative comments I have seen. I have driven the Trace numerous times for the last 40 years both in RV's and car's and have never gotten tired of the relaxed pace and bucolic scenery. There are several ways to get touring guides of the Trace and surrounding area to maximize the experience. Watch your speed, the park police can be strict.

I guess there are always fast paced interstates and cities to drive through for others.

We are planning a trip the end of March to go from our home in Maryland to Tunica Miss. We travel down 81 to Tenn and then cut across on 40. We would like to take a side trip to Red Bay and tour the Tiffin factory. The Natchez Trace Pky looks like a good route from Nashviile to Red Bay. Any comments would be appreciated.

The trace wontt get you to red Bay but it will get you close. You can get off the trace on Highway 25 in Tishomingo and head South through Belmont then follow signs to red Bay. Service Center is in the right as soon as you cross in to Alabama and enter red Bay
To get to tunica. ..
From there you could head south out of red Bay and get on 78 through Tupelo and then towards memphis. Just before you get into Tennessee you will go left / West on 302(Goodman Rd) stay on it to I-55 then South a small piece to the new I-69 that will put you at the doorstep of the casinos.

In that case, you will go past the service center to a traffic light past the rr tracks in red Bay then left at light a couple of blocks on your left back across tracks will put you at the plant.
If you stay straight through Belmont you can see the final stages and paint facility on the left
