The beginning of the trace is in Natchez Mississippi and runs north from there. There are three National Park dry camp grounds spread pretty evenly on the trace. There are several State Parks not far off the trace with full hook ups as well as private parks.

We have driven the trace several times in early spring and fall. We use the dry campgrounds on the trace and have had a great time. I dont know about any construction issues. We have done it in our 36 foot diesel pusher and it was just great!
