Anyone visit the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, if so where did you stay and how close was it to the museum?
Thinking about traveling there for the C4 weekend,

Regards,

The museum is quite a place to see. You can spend a long time looking at the memories and highlights of the Corvette. There are two RV parks near the museum; Beech Bend and Bowling Green KOA. Both are about 5 out of 10 on my scale. The KOA is south of the museum, just off of I-65. Beech Bend might be a little closer, it is west of the museum. Take your camera and plenty of film with you on your visit. Also, if you go through the week you might be able to get a tour of the factory. I'm not sure if they offer it any more. Have fun.

Thanks guys I appreciate the thoughts!
I have an 86 Corvette and have ache to make the visit, even thought of just taking the Vette down. But I believe the Coach would be the best bet since we may visit friends in Georgia.
Hey Cruiser, Nothing wrong with the Blue Oval and those Pony Cars!

BIG thumbs down on Beech Bend. Incredibly noisy and rowdy. Management didn't care about drunks driving around all night doing burnouts. (Yes it was during a drag race weekend (had to be there for work), but zero enforcement of any rules.)

We visited the museum a couple years ago. Quite impressive & Indiana Journey is right, take your digital camera with a good sized SD card! I'm a Blue Oval girl myself (own a 66 Mustang GT conv), but still really appreciate the Corvette.

We stayed at Cave Country RV Campground in Cave City, half an hour NE of Bowling Green, right off I-65. It's a new campground, all sites are gravel pull-thrus with fhu's & it is immaculately kept. Check out my review. I'd highly recommend it.

We just finished booking a Florida rip for spring, headed down to Disney, so we might make this a fall trip even though I'd like to do the C4 weekend.

Have stayed in the KOA 2 times and had good times each time. Closest to NCM. They have some nice sites with patios next to them and fire places. Nice people run the place and sites are kept up. Enjoy the time, I have been there many times and will be back for the C5& C6 Bash this year.

Bringing this back up since we are now seriously booking this trip.Looking to go at the end of October.
How far out is the KOA from Bowling in regards getting a rental car?
Anything else around the area worth seeing?

We did the Corvette Museum and the factory tour which is right across the street.

You can also do Mammoth Cave which has a tour for every ability from an easy walk through to full caving. We stayed at Nolin Lake which is a little further away but a great spot with sites right on the lake.

There is a rental car place about 2-3 miles from the KOA. The KOA is located one exit south from the Corvette Museum and plant. There is a camping world on the same exit as the KOA i think. Have a great visit.

We stayed in Nashville near The Grand Ole Oprey and next door to Camping World. We made a days run up to Bowling Green to the Corvette factory tour. What a great tour, my wife was equally very impressed with the tour. Suprised me !!

We stayed at Beach Bend when we were down for the C4 gathering a few year ago. It's kind of like camping in a parking lot. We were there in the off season for the amusement park end of it, so it wasn't too bad. Havn't tried the KOA but it sure can't be any worse.
