That is where we are going. After much research it seems to be a good place at a good price with a trolley going into the French quarter. Have fun!

We have stayed at KOA West and enjoyed the CG. On appearance getting to the campground we thought we were "getting into something," but the surrounding area did not do the CG justice. Wide level sites. FHU, and closest CG to the French Quarter (According to them)

Bayou Segnette State Park in Westwego. Elec./water dump station. About 15 minutes from the Quarter

If money is no object, The French Quarter RV Resort is great for location, security (while in the park) and amenities (pool and hot tub). Walking distance to Bourbon Street... which is always a plus.

Another vote for Bayou Segnette SP.

Take the free Algiers Ferry over to the Quarter. Parking on the Algiers Point side of the river is cheaper than in the Quarter. The ferry drops you off at the foot of Canal Street right at the edge of the French Quarter. You can walk or you can ride the trolleys for $1. There is also a low-cost all-day trolley pass.

Yet another vote for Bayou Segnette. Really enjoyed that spot when we were there. Nice large green sites plus cute trails in the area too.

If you're interested I got pics of the park on the blog here

We are here now. When you get to the main road here it's an industrial type location on a canal ( got a little worried) but the CG is very nice. They have a pool, hot tub, bar and nice landscaping and a security gate. Very friendly people and a trolley to the quarter. Well worth the $33.
