BlueOx has a small campground located in Pender NE. If you have a BlueOx product and get them to service it, the campground is free. Otherwise it is $15 per night.

Thanks for all the suggestions folks.

We ended up staying overnight at Lakeside in North Platte (OK for one night but has obviously seen its better days), and three nights at Pine Grove in Greenwood. Pine Grove is pretty nice, large sites, fairly quiet even though I-80 is nearby. Next stop is KC for some burnt ends .

The Arch in Kearney was great as was the SAC Museum in Ashland.
