Question Need a good overnight stop near Buffalo, NY!

July 1st we'll be headed to Boston, MA and are looking for a good overnight stop just north (traveling I-90) of Buffalo, NY. We can't leave until late in the afternoon on the 1st, so we're hoping to get that far before stopping for a few "winks". We thought it best to get through Buffalo so we don't hit rush hour traffic in the morning hours. We would prefer something quick and easy, right off the freeway, since we'll only be there for 6 or 7 hours. Suggestions??? Walmarts, Rest stops, etc.??? Can you park overnight in New York rest stops?

Thats what i was going to suggest,wal-mart,rest area, nice out-of-the-way mall parking lot or truck stop.Truck stops are pretty noisy, bring your ear plugs.

Can you "overnight" in a rest stop in New York? Don't know if we'd find a "spot" at 10:00 p.m. or later. Walmarts with parking off I-90 northeast of Buffalo?

Yes you can stay over in the rest & service areas on the NYS Thruways. I've never heard of a time limit. You can park in the truck area or in the car parking area depending available space.
