Need a Spot Between St. Stephen and Nova Scotia

Leaving Rockport Maine on Sept.7 and heading to Nova Scotia. Need a spot for overnight and a break after St. Stephen crossing along the route 1 ride. Would love a spot near the water. Somewhere around St. John would be ideal. Any suggestions?

Probably further than you want to go but , Hopewell Rocks ,on 114 , roads were a little small but in good condition and the depth of the tide change there is among the deepest in the whole Bay of Fundy.
I'll check the DW's travel log for the park name .

We stayed in NB,Century Farm Family Campground just about 30 miles past St. Johns. We stayed several days, from the windshield we could watch the tides go in and out on Fundy Bay. Went into St. Johns exploring one day, the campground is located about 1-2 from the Fundy Trail, great drive, on Saturday and Sunday they have some neat things to see and do, music and crafts. The folks at the campground are great, he stays out in the campground and even delivers firewood to your site. Several good restaurants close and don't miss the general store, we stopped in to pick up a few things and we stayed an hour talking to the ladies that run the store. Great campground, waterfront sites. About $40 a night, if there was anything that was negative is the road going to St. Martin, take it slow and everything will be good. Stay on the interstate until you are past St. John, about the first or second exit (Hwy 111) after you get out of town. Also fill up before you get into Canada, fuel $1.40 per liter, $5/gallon. from the Canadian border on 1, it is about 100 miles, all interstate except Hwy 111, about 30 miles, just take it slow

I don't know where you ar going in NS but if you go to Cape Briton, do not go up the east side to Ingonish, we stayed at the campground there, the campground was great but the road was horrible, narrow, rough and steep. Cheticamp is on the west side, the road is so much better, I cannot remember the number of the highway but if possible get a site at the Cheticamp campground, both are park grounds, we left early from Ingonish and went to Cheticamp, they let us swap sites in the other campground. We enjoyed both sides, the east side roads was OK in the park but getting to the park was a nightmare. We left I think from Ingonish going to Cheticamp, we was about 5 miles from the campground and met a tour bus, read in the paper the next day the bus wrecked and killed one lady. Don't know what happened but it may have been the drop off on the edge of the road, be really careful, and don't miss Meat Cove, really beautiful but the view is the only thing there.

Strange, we was in Eastport Maine when Arthur came through, we had to stay an extra day because of tree damage on the road. Arthur went up through NB and hit Fredericton really bad but St. Martins never lost electricity. I got several nicks on MH from flying gravel.
