There are full hookups at some of the sites at Promised Land State Park as well. It sounds like they are experimenting with fhu sites with the idea of adding them at other parks if it goes well. So far it seems to be a hit.

Been to Wellsboro too. There is a National Park there that is very nice. Great place for hiking and many trails and waterfalls in the area.

2X! Don't miss Wellsboro and the Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania. These are the places that you stop to smell the flowers for sure. Take a stroll downtown in Wellsboro -- just a fun, fun adventure going back to the time when life was simpler, friendlier and less rushed.

Route 6 in PA is called "Scenic 6". It is definitely that. With a motorhome it will be a blast!

Safe -- and fun -- travels.

I'm looking for a stop over around susquehannock state forest. Does anyone have a campsite recommendation for that area? Just for one day/night.

Ole bull state park is nice. But it's about 45 minutes south of route 6.....not sure how far you want to wander.

Kettle Creek is about 30 minutes SW of Ole Bull and doesn't get the deer flys Ole Bull might get. Kettle Creek is a small state park of about 40 site but half are on the creek.

Take a search on YouTube for a few videos for Worlds End. I was going to do Rickets Glen, but they were going to do dam work there this summer.

Forgot to ask if route 6 through Pennsylvania to the Alleghenies has any low bridges or driving obsticles I should be aware of. I hate finding a surprise low bridge that slopes down too low in the right lane while you're doing 60.

Route 6 is a US highway and is built to those standards. You should have no problem. We once owned a cabin right on 6 just west of Galeton.

If you are a Rail Fan there is a lot of Railroad history west of Scranton all the way to the Ohio line. some of it is abandon but the last time I was in the area the roadbed were visible

In Nicholson Pa a little off Route 6 is the Nicholson Viaduct one of the largest Reinforced Concrete Structures in the world. When built in 1914 it was the largest in the World, It is celebration 100 years old this year and is still in use today.

If you are over near Bradford check out the pastry shop there with a towed:

John william's european pastry Shop

The Zippo factory is also up that way.

Interesting museums over toward Oil City.
I'd go 6 west out of Scranton then loop back down toward Harrisburg/Hershey with maybe a stop in Dutch country. YMMV. ;-)

Frank, You may want to check with the Cook Forest SP as we have been having a lot of rain in the area. We had sites reserved there for the fourth of July but cancelled as it appeared they were going to be water logged. Also the last I checked the water level was to high for canoeing or rafting in that area as it was over 7'.

The rain has been causing havoc all over. Maybe instead of the camper I'll bring a pontoon boat to sleep on. Thanks all for the comments. Now it's time to see what happens. Hoping for good weather.
