I could find nothing close to Gainsville. Two CGs are near, but not close. Travelers CG, I75 exit 399 is North of Gainsville 386-462-2505 or Grand Lake RV Resort, I75 exit 368, South of Gainsville. Gainsville is at I75 exit 384. Good luck

Araucano,
You may want to check with the Medical Center. Many hospitals will allow you to park on one of their lots...

Hope this isn't too late. You may want to look at Paines Prarie State Park Campground. It is about ten miles south of Gaines on HWY 441. Only drawback might be it isnt full hookups. I have driven through Grand Lake and it is a nice campground. I stayed at another campground just south of Gainesville. I cant remember the name but I think it was Ocala RV resort. I think it was off the Reddick Fl exit. It was a pretty nice one and was a Good Sams and Passport America campground.

Starke KOA is about 30 minutes north of Gainesville. This is the nicest KOA I've ever seen. Wide (40-50 feet), deep (60-75 feet)sites. Private showers. Treed and open sites, take your pick. On US 301 on southern end of Starke. We usually avoid KOAs. But we will definitely be going back to this one.
