My wife and I are planning a visit to relatives that live on the East side of Ohare International in the Chicago area. We will be living in our small fifth wheel and need a place to camp for a few days. In my research I have found Martin Joliet campground in Joliet, Il, and Chicago KOA in Union, IL. Both are between 35 and 40 miles from the relatives with the KOA appearing to be the easiest to get to and from. I am leaning in the direction of the KOA. Is there anything nearer or better I should consider? Any State, County, or City parks with campgrounds?

Chain 'O' Lakes State Park is northwest of O'Hare about 40-45 miles. It's got a few 50 amp hookups, several 30 amp hookups. Very nice park. It's on Johnsburg/Wilmot Road about 2 miles south of Rte 173 in, I think, Fox Lake.
