Hi All,
We'll be traveling from Reno to Vegas in mid September. We can take 2 or 3 days to complete the trip. We'd like to break it up into at least 2 days. Any suggestions on RV parks to stay in along the way? Maybe in Hawthorne, or Tonopah or somewhere around Scotty's Junction or Beatty?

Plan on staying in Hawthorne rather than Tonopah, which is too bad. Tonopah has a wonderful mining museum but I would not recommend any RV park in Tonopah.

We usually do this drive in a single (long) day.
As far as I know there aren't a lot of convenient parks/resorts along the way. I think that there may be one by Walker Lake. Other than that it's basically rest stops.
If you want to stop before Vegas there is a nice resort (great facilities in terms of pool, gym, etc.) in Pahrump well before you get into town. it's now a KOA and I think called KOA Seibt Desert Retreat. It's off of Leslie and the 160.
Stopping there has the advantage of an easy stop and still about 1 - 1.5 hours before you get to Vegas,

If you route through Yerington, the Weed Heights RV Park isn't a bad bet.
For camping and boondocking on the northern half of this route see US 95 – Tohopah to McDermit
Most of those who chose 2 days for the route usually overnight in the rest area north of Tonopah or in a Casino there. For a more leisurely trip. Death Valley and US 395 are usually on the agenda.

There is a fairly nice RV park just north of Beatty. Can't remember the name, but it is on the left as you are going south from Tonopah and Goldfield. They do have a couple or three big rig sites and, when we stayed there in February, the 50 Amp was good.

We travel that way frequently, but don't stay in RV parks.
If you can live without hookups, there are several free BLM areas along the western side of Walker Lake before getting into Hawthorne, and there is also a fee BLM campground near the southern end of the lake.
West of Tonopah on US-6, there is Miller's Rest Area that has a nice, large area just for RVs and allows an up to 18-hour stay. There is fresh water and a dump available there, although when we stayed there this past November, the dump was closed. I don't know if it was a permanent closure, closed for repairs, or just for the season.

I always stay at the rest area (Miller's) northwest of Tonopah. About 10 miles from Tonopah. It's far enough way from the road that traffic noise isn't a problem.
