Need Trip Suggestions

I am relatively new to the forum, but need a little help. Just found out that I will have a long weekend coming up and want to do a shake down trip as a new owner. Anyone have any suggestions for a short trip from Tehachapi, CA?

Well, seein' how I am in Lancaster, I can recommend a place I went for 5 days at Thanksgiving this year. I grew up here in AV and had never been.
We had a great time, and the scenery is very different from AV.

................. ITs.............

Joshua Tree National Park.

There a camping spaces inside the park, and RV parks just out side it. Bring your toad, because there is alot to see.

Also, the NP free week will fill up the inside park spaces. April 21 thru 29th.

Go thru Apple Valley, easy drive.

Russ,

I lived in California a long time. The Pinnacles National Monument, near Salinas is a little-known park. I have no idea what the RV facilities are like these days, but itís a nice area to explore and is about 200 miles from Tehachapi. See:
http://www.nps.gov/pinn/index.htm

Death Valley is another great destination, also about 200 miles from you. According to their site, May is too hot for many people, but itís a fascinating place to see. Donít miss Death Valley Scottyís Castle. Check the Park Service site:
http://www.nps.gov/deva/index.htm

Enjoy your new RV. It will open up a new world to you and your family.
Ė Loren
