New CG progress I95 Smithfield, NC

Went out to the old Smithfield KOA in Four Oaks, NC, just off I95. The new owners bought and closed this CG last fall. They have torn almost everything down and are in the process of building new facilities and building a second pool. They are also moving the cabins, expanding the campground, installing all new water/electric while they redisign the sites. I was amazed at how slow this project has been, but I guess it's going to be nice enough, although I didn't see anything wrong with the campground before. Our son is working there and they have an estimated open date of June. Just thought I would let you folks know it will not be open on your way north this spring. Safe travels.

Guess I'll have to check out the one in Smithfield. The DW loves shopping at the outlets there.

The Fayetteville RV Resort is great. They are putting down asphalt on the roads. The office has been renovated. All of the sites are spacious. You wont go wrong staying here. The Smithfield campground is in the process of renovation. I'm sure it will be nice when they finish up. The Fayetteville resort is off I-95 at exit 61. Easy off and easy onto the interstate. I stopped by this week. Stop on by and stay awhile.
