We are planning on being in VT, NH and Maine the first two weeks of October this year. I've been reading conflicting reports on how full campgrounds will be during that time. We plan on keeping our itenerary flexible but would probably call ahead for week-end reservations. Does anybody have first hand knowledge about campground availability during this time?

Leaf Peeper Season, roads will be busy especially
on weekends. Not sure about campgrounds, some
might even been getting ready to close up for the
season. I would try to plan and reserve before
hand just to be sure you have a place.

The CG in Augusta/Richmond Maine is open until the 13th of October. We have been working here this year, well kept CG, hour ride to attractions like Booth Bay, lots of trees changing colors. Country setting about 15 miles from Augusta and all the stores.

In early October, My wife and I are staying over two nights in New Hampshire at the Canon Mountain RV Park on Echo Lake in the north end of The Franconia Notch (just a couple of miles south of the town of Franconia)
We're going there because we're hikers and plan on hiking the mountains there. The park itself has only 9 sites but is quite nice, very quiet, picturesque, full service and can be reserved online. No showers.
