We have been to a mid-Vermont campground called Lake Dunmore Kamperville. They have some nice big site near the front section. As far as wildlife there is a state forest next door and a great place to pick blueberries near by. Been there maybe 5 times.

Here are some pics from our last Vermont trip in 2010. We stayed at 3 campgrounds over 2 weeks (Kamperville, Gold brook near Stowe and a state park called Half Moon.) Her are the pics

About 2 miles north of the Ben & Jerry's factory there is a campground called
Goldbrook. Great location to see all the things around Stowe like: Stowe bike trail, Stowe "Toll Road" which you drive to near the top of the mountain and hike ( 1.5 miles ) across a ridge above tree line to the summit which is the highest point in VT., Smugglers Notch, shopping in Stowe.....The bike trail starts a mile south of the ski area and runs about 5 miles and ends at the town of Stowe. All paved with 13 bridges and mostly down hill..My wife would drop me and my son off and pick us up in town.

The campground is not modern...What it has going for it is location location...The nicest campground grass you will ever see, nice pool. They do not have a public website...I told the owner he would bring in more business if he did. Instead he has a private "Intranet site" ???? I have no idea why its a private site. he said his son set it up...

Ben & Jerry's has a nice parking lot for RV's, but can get very busy on weekends.
