New Mexico, Albuquerque campgrounds?
Hi, folks...our son and his family are moving to Los Lunas New Mexico, which is close to Albuquerque. We have an ORV fiver, 50 amp. Can anyone recommend a campground? Thanks for the help.

We stayed at the KOA in Albuquerque last month and were very impressed with the campground. Only stayed 1 night on the road back to Wyoming. However I certainly would recommend it.
Good luck with your travels!

Do NOT stay at Hidden Valley RV Park. It's east of ABQ in Tijeras.

sure. our go-to park in ABQ is Isleta Lakes RV Park on the grounds of the Isleta Pueblo. mostly 50-amp FHU pull-thrus but be advised that the Rail Runner commuter train runs nearby. we live near busy RR tracks at home so it doesn't bother us. on the plus side other than the occasional train it's quiet, 1 large fishing lake with a 1.5 mile walking/jogging track around it.

Stay away from KOA on east side.
Might as well just camp in the freeway

We recently stayed at American RV Resort. Really nice park, no road noise and gated with code for entering.
would rate it at least an 8

We stayed at Stagecoach Stop RV Park up 25 in Bernalillo. It was quiet, clean, and had really nice views of the mountains.

You don't say what part of Alb would be best but Route 66 Casino and RV park about 10 miles west of town is a great park. Good food in the casino and nice BIG spots for any size rig. Fuel right there as well. Nice views

We have always stayed at American and give it high marks. This spring we tried Route 66 and really liked it also it's very new. Route 66 also has a very convenient truck stop for fuel right in the complex as well as the casino. If your hot button is huge, level concrete sites with lots of space you might try Route 66. If you want to be closer to Albq American is closer by maybe 6 miles. This was our site @ Route 66.

How far away do you want to be from Los Lunas? Are you bringing a toad? Most of the RV parks that are being recommended above are over an hour drive away and you have to go through the Big I to get there which is a chore. I am not saying they aren't good recommendations but since I live here I would like to get a better idea of what your driving intent is. Los Lunas is 45 minutes from ABQ (30 if you drive like the locals).
Oh and it's Balloon Fiesta week so you are going to find most of the RV parks pretty crowded right now. Just another FYI.

We have stayed in many in Albuquerque, and now go to High Desert or Enchanted Trails off I40 West of town. American is very nice, but not worth the extra cost to us.
BUT, as stated above, ALL Albuquerque parks are a good distance from Los Lunas. I would look for something in Los Lunas. Looking at RV Park Reviews - Trusted Reviews of Campgrounds & RV Parks will give you some good info.
